The landscape architect, the visionary, the artist, famous American-Bulgarian Christo Javacheff who also known as  CHRISTO, who passed away last year, was the creator of the world’s most known unprecedented land art installations. For the last sixty years he created unbelievable gigantic art installations using the land and architecture as his canvas, wrapped everything from vast landscapes to ordinary objects in colourful fabrics.

Christo started to plan the project of wrapping of the famous L’Arc de Triomphe in Paris that Christo in 1962, when he lived there in a small room with a view on one of the greatest monuments in the world.

Christo and Jeanne-Claude have always made clear that their artworks in progress be continued after their deaths. Per Christo’s wishes, L’Arc de Triomphe, Wrapped has been realized by his team and his belated wife Jeanne-Claude.

L’Arc de Triomphe, Wrapped is entirely funded by the Estate of Christo V. Javacheff, through the sale of Christo’s preparatory studies, drawings, and collages of the project as well as scale models, works from the 1950s and 1960s, and original lithographs on other subjects. It receives no public funds.
